Water Pipes
CAPE PIPE RELINERS conduct pipe relining services for both drainage pipes and potable water pipes (also including fire & HVAC pipelines). We are registered Licensees of the best pipe relining products and processes on the planet and have skilled teams which understand the pipe relining technical aspects and installations. We both install and maintain pipe relining systems. In addition, we are able to reline, rehabilitate and refurbish manhole systems.
Water Pipes:
Our technology is second to none for the repair of pressure pipes from 15mm diameter up to 300mm.
With over 8 years of pressure pipe repair experience, CAPE PIPE RELINERS have the compatibility of combining traditional trenchless pipe repair methods such as Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP), along-side our potable water relining systems. Our new age technology restores aged, corroded piping systems and copper pipes that have pinhole leaks. The system is also suitable for all ranges of water pipe work infrastructure.
Up till now, the lining process has mainly been used to reline pipes for storm water and sewer applications. It however has developed a great deal as a technology and is now frequently used all over the world for an arrange of applications.
Depending on the customers requirements, we use two different technologies for lining potable (drinking) water pipelines, namely:
A CIPP relining process involving a styrene-free resin which is suitable for drinking water applications (mostly for larger diameter pipes), allowing us to renovate any old pipeline with minimal disruption.
These non-invasive procedure permits residents, tenants, owners and workers to continue with their daily activities, preventing displacement, business closure and pipe system downtime.

Water Pipe Relining
Our highly skilled teams firstly conduct a site safety set-up and a risk assessment based on the area at work. The process then begins to drain the water out of the piping system and then run dry heated air through the pipes network to ensure the removal of the moisture in the pipes. A specialised application is then used to blast the pipe network clean removing all of the corrosion built up and create an anchor tooth for the epoxy to adhere to.
A specialised method is then used to internally prepare the pipework and remove all corrosion build up, ready for the relining process. Once the pipe is fully cleaned, we then apply a specialised coating system to the piping network which creates an internal pipe coat between the water and the pipe, eliminating future corrosion.

Internal Pipe Coating:
The internal pipe coating process utilizes the HP Pipe Coater (state of the art trenchless technology). This will clean and coat the pipe internally. The HP Pipe Coater is able to slide through a small diameter pipe, maneuver around turns and offsets as well as spray the interior of the pipe (up to 250 feet per entrance) with 100% polyurea.
Furthermore, the HP Pipe Coater can coat from 100 mils – 300 mils in one pass and is NSF-61 approved for potable drinking water. It has a high chemical resistance as well as abrasive resistant. In addition it also has a high temperature and pressure rating. Polyurea will set and cure in 10 seconds unlike the traditional repair which can take weeks to dig and replace.
Home and business owners can now take advantage of the new technology and have their pipe internally or externally coated. We take pride in our work and we understand the need for more cost effective alternatives for pipe repair.
Save money, time, and your landscape or structure!
External Pipe Coating:
Our internal and external pipe coating services can be completed by using industry leading Polyurea material. Polyurea is a remarkable technology which can be used to coat all type of pipes including steel, cast iron, asbestos, concrete structures, tanks and has a wide variety of applications.
Polyurea cures and sets in an extremely fast rate of only 5 seconds. Consequently, your business or project can be back up and running in minutes. These applications of Polyurea have been widely proven and accepted by oil refineries, food processing plants, wineries, restaurants, and many other building structures nationwide.
Pipe Coating vs Pipe Lining
The differences between the processes
There are many pros and cons to both sides. Here are a few advantages pipe coating offers which pipe lining cannot.
- Pipe coating has no risk of miss-measurements or stretching into city main lines.
- Pipe lining is prone to having collapsed liners.
- Pipe coating has no risk of blocking laterals or other pipes connected to the sewer main. Blocking other pipes can cause major problems if a technician doesn’t see the opening during the camera process.
- The need for expensive reinstatement cutters.
- Can coat internally and externally.
